Weekly Photo Challenge: The Golden Hour

This image was captured on Saturday evening just before sundown at Lee Point, Darwin, Northern Territory. Canon 60D with a Sigma 17-50 mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM Lens. Focal length= 28mm, f22, ISO 100, 30 second exposure. with a ND8 filter + Graduated ND4. This image is taken straight from camera with no post processing.

The sky had a smokey haze that pretty much blocked the setting sun completely, but this created an unreal stunning light. The incoming tide was starting to refill the rock pools on the reef.

    • I went out to try the new Neutral Gray filter I purchased that morning. I think the colours were due to a smoke haze from distant bush fires. The filter brought these colours out so brilliantly. I want to blow this up on a big canvas.
