Saturday 16th March Photography Jaunt

Well the day was a right off, so we decided to get our Cameras’; Canon 60D and my wife’s Nikon V1 with 300mm Zoom, and go for a drive. We ended up at Charles Darwin Park in the late afternoon heat. It was pretty unbearable as the occasional slight breeze was stifled by the 6 foot high spear grass which surrounded us like a guard wall, retaining us amid it’s humid confines. But as the sun started to set, some life appeared and I found a small spring beside a narrow road where birds gathered to splash and cool down.

Whilst observing these small birds I heard a scrabble in the bush beside me, I looked around to see this rare Red Winged Green Parrot watching me with an amused expression in it’s eyes.

Lucky Hey! Sometimes enduring harsh conditions pays off.
